18″ FW Premiums & Selects
18” Premium R&R
All vertical grain with no knots; rejointed and rebutted (R&R); kiln-dried. These shingles are 18” long, 3/8” thick butt; 4”, 6”, and 8” widths (heavy 6”). Available in 5”, 6”, 7”, and 8” exposures. Recommended finishes are Bleaching Oil, Clears, and Semi’s.

18” Select R&R
18″ WRC Shingle Re-butted and Re-squared (R&R) – Clear of knots but does allow for mixed grain and flat grain. A nice paint grade shingle but can be used in semi-trans and translucent application

18″ Perfection Shingles
18” #1 Blue Label Perfections
All vertical grain with no knots; air-dried; rougher butt. These shingles are 18” long, no less than 17”; up to 10” widths. Available in 5”, 5.5”, 6”, and 7” exposures. Recommended finishes are Bleaching Oil, Clears, and Semi’s.

18” #2 Red Label Perfections
18″ WRC Shingle – allows for knots above the 5″ exposure line and allows for mixed and flat grain – a great paint grade shingle.

18” #3 Black Label Perfections
18″ WRC Shingle – allows for knots above 5″ exposure line and allows for mixed and flat grain – usually used as a starter shingle but can be used as a siding shingle where price is a big concern. Not a bad option but it is the lowest grade shingle.
